Kiwi

The kiwi is a flightless bird, which has many distinct attributes. They are about the size of a chicken, have thick leather skin, a great sense of smell, a long beak with nostrils on the end, and hair-like feathers.During mating season, the male kiwi makes a call that goes "kiiwii". This is how they got their name. The word kiwi is a Maori word. The kiwi has little predators that are some introduced species.

The kiwi is New Zealand's famous bird. It is the icon and conveys New Zealand to the world. New Zealanders are also known as 'Kiwis'. The name has been around since the First World War, when Australian soldiers gave the nickname Kiwi.

A famous film director : Peter Jackson

Peter Jackson was born as an only child in a small coast-side town in New Zealand in 1961. He started recording his own movies at 8, which he made with his friends. They were usually short. Jackson's first step towards the more serious filmmaking came with an entry in a local contest to stimulate amateur and children's film. When Jackson was 22, he embarked on an moviemaking-adventure that would change his life.. A friend of Jackson who was working in the movie industry convinced him the film had commercial prospects and arranged for it to be shown at the Cannes film festival, where it won a lot of acclaim, as well as a number of prizes.
