In the mid fifties the first stars were black performers like Chuck Berry but the king of rock 'n' roll was a young southerner named Elvis Presley. He was white but sang like a black man. He lokked like a rebel but had a tender heart. On stage, he swayed his hips and his fans sceamed and danced to the new rhythm.
