Violinists

Menuhin/Hahn/Vengerov

Yehudi Menuhin (1916-1999) :

Menuhin was only seven when he began his violinists career, playing Eduardo Lalo's Spanish Symphony. A few years later, his popularity grew up when he gave a perfect interpretation of the Beethoven'sViolin Concerto, et the Carnegie Hall in New York.

But he also became a gifted conductor, and above all a fervent supporter of human rights, notably in 1989, when he protested against the Chinese army's repression of the student uprising.

He is considered as one of the greatest musician of the century.

.

Hilary Hahn (1979) :

Hilary Hahn was born in Lexington in 1979. She began playing the violin at the age of four and her first solo recital occurred when she was ten, including a Handel Sonata, among many other short pieces very hard to play for a violinist so young.

In 1996, Hilary was signed by Sony Music to an exclusive recording contract and then recorded nine discs, which were all bestsellers. Besides, the great composer Meyer wrote a violin concerto specifically for her. Now she records exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon. Rewarded by many prizes, in addition to being a talented solo violinist, Hilary Hahn has also performed as a chamber musician, which is really exceptional

Maxim Vengerov (1974) :

Vengerov made his debuts as a talented violinist at the age of 10, receiving the First Prize in the Junior Wieniawski Competition in Poland. Then he gave many recitals, accompanied by the Concertgebow Orchestra, and has become recognized as one of today's finest violinists ever since.

He has performed with many orchestras, notably the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and famous conductors like Daniel Barenboim and Rostropovitch.

Maxim Vengerov plays on a superb instrument by Antonio Stradivari.
